MAP Games introduce race and fun walk
The first ever Maimane Alfred Phiri fun walk and race is set to take place this coming sunday, the 15th October 2017.
The MAP games known popularly for being the best ‘diski world cup’ has added a race to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth and senior citizens in Alexandra and surrounding areas. Retired football legend and owner of the MAP games Maimane Phiri said with this race being the first, they are looking to host approximately 1000 applicants and are hoping to turn this into an annual thing.
Currently there are over 500 recipients who have confirmed to attend the race on Sunday and anyone who feels health conscious is eligible to take part in the race. All participants who get to the finish line will receive medals for participation. The first three winners will receive customised prizes for their efforts.
MAP games and the local organizing committee in partnership with Joburg Metro Police Department have ensure there is road safety as participants will be walking from Altrek, using some of the busy roads like Bohlabela.
The public is urged to come in numbers to support this initiative that will be fun and benefit their health.
