This year Under the leadership of Craig Newman, South Africa’s Johannesburg Expo Centre hosted the 84th UFI Global Congress from the 1st to the 4th of November 2017 at the Sandton Convention Centre under the theme “Raising the odds-Pressures and profits”.
The Congress has earned its reputation as the exhibition industry’s global meeting and usually hosts no less than 50 countries.
“I always look forward to UFI’S Global Congress. It is the perfect event to gauge the fitness of the industry and benchmark against peers and competitors in healthy competition.
It offers opportunity to discuss industry topics with like-minded colleagues and keep the excitement of the exhibitions alive and well” said UFI President Andreas Gruchow who also added that he enjoys watching the next generation of leaders share their passion of the industry.
The official programme commenced on Thursday the 2nd of November with inspiring speakers like Wine maker and Surfing Champion Johan Reyneke sharing their experiences through the entrepreneurial Journey.
The purpose of the event is to discuss current and future pressures on the exhibition industry, and share best practices and insights into the profits generated through change and perseverance.
